Unusual burglary
Detectives are at a loss to explain the motive for an unusual burglary in Christchurch on Thursday night.
Thieves broke into Warren Woodturners, Ltd, at 132 Jeffreys Road, Bryndwr, and took small wooden furniture components worth $7OO.
The pieces of wood—which had been turned on a lathe and varnished—were all less than Ift long. “I don’t know what they wanted them for, but I doubt that it would be for firewood,” a C. 1.8. spokesman said.
