Ski field conditions reported! to the Canterbury Ski Association! at midday yesterday were:— i Amuri.—Because a large team will be at Windwhistle the field is closed this week-end. Mount Cheesman.—Heavy snow during the week. The whole field i is well covered and the skiable; level is 1280 m. All tows operating. Roac open to middle car! park and top road will be bull- ; dozed by the week-end. Chains essential. The field will be open' at week-ends only, as from this week-end. Craigieburn.—Fresh snow on Thursday. Excellent ski-ing. All tows operating Roads clear but chains necessary. Mount Olympus.—More snow than last week. Four-wheel drive advisable above the bottom hut. Porter Heights.—3lomm of snow this week. Excellent skiing over the whole mountain. All tows operating. Ski school and ski hire available. Chains’ not required. j
Tekapo.—23smm of new snow !on Monday. Spring snow condii tions. Chairlift and platterlift operating. Road open but chains :to be carried. Whole field packed Iby snow groomer. Erewhon Park.—2lomm of fresh snow. Conditions good. All tows i operating. Broken River.—soomm of snow this week. All tows operating, j Chains required. I Mount Hu.tt.—4oomm of new snow fell on Wednesday. There iis now more snow over the whole basin. All lifts working. Road open but chains required. Temple Basin.—3lomm of new snow fell on Tuesday. Skiable level 1200 mm. Tows and goods ! lift operating. Coronet Peak.—somm of fresh powder snow fell on Tuesday. Very good ski-ing all over the mountain. Both chairlifts and Happy Valley pom a operating. ; Road and car park clear and ! chains not required. Weather is i cloudy.
