Caruba. who showed a clean pair of heels to his rivals on Saturday, took 39sec for a quiet 600 metres. Red Dale ran 1000 in Imin ssec, the last 600 in 39.65ec. Pallisander, a fresh horse at the meeting went an easy round, coming over the last 600 in 40sec. The Sanders-trained Patron Saint four-year-old was a last-start fifth at Matamata.
