A day for the Greys

If the saleyard Is the testing ground of a new breed, then two MurrayGrey steers offered at Addington this week were a good advertisement for their breed. Offered by Mr L. C. Early, of Sefton, the two steers were rated by followers of the market as probably the best pair of bullocks seen at Addington for a long time.

Under some solid competition, the bidding soared to $249 — well above one pre-sale estimate of $220. The two beasts were estimated to weigh out at about 900ib on average. The only criticism was that the vendor might have over-finished one of them.
