Young Quinn, blocked for a run in the home stretch, finished a close fourth in the $61,600 Canadian Pacing Derby it mile) at Toronto on Saturday night The gelding, driven by Joe Marsh, Jun., had a good barrier draw at No. 2 but the inside horse. Jambo Dance, and Meadow Blue Chip from No. 5 were first out and disputed the lead until the home turn. Rambling Willie, the eventual winner, and Shirley’s Beau, second, bad Young Quinn boxed in in the stretch and by the time he got clear it was too Narie Dew got third place in a photo-finish with Young Quinn .. . . Rambling Willie, which has beaten Young Quinn several times this year, ran the mile in Imln 57.8 sec on a rain-affected track.
The trainer, Charlie Hunter, told N.Z.P.A. 'esterday that Young Quinn will race for a Sl7 500 stake at Ottawa next Mondav week before moving on to Yonkers. New York, for a couple of weeks. The major race at the moment in sight for Young Quinn is a $50,000 free-for-all on September 1 to mark the opening of a new track in New Jersey. I
