Park Tee widening work starts

Widening work in Park ■ Terrace, south of the Carlton Mill Bridge, was started yesterday by the Christ--1 church City Council. The City Engineer (Mr P. G. Secular) said that kerb and channel excavations were being done on the west side of Park Terrace for about 120 metres and the street would be widened by a maximum of 2.4 metres. When the west side is ; finished, possibly this week, i work will start on the east side. The footpath will be reduced to a standard width of lOft as far as Dorset Street. New signals at the Carlton Mill Corner may be ini' stalled by the end of i August, and carriageway I work on the Park Terrace • widening will be done in ; October or November.
