Appeal board chairman

PA Wellington A Christchurch barrister, Mr Douglas Edward Ames, has been appointed chairman of the Government Railways Appeal Board, the Minister of Railways (Mr McLachlan) has announced. Mr Ames, aged 63, is the senior partner tn a Christchurch legal firm. He succeeds Mr Frederick McCarthy, who has retired because of ill health.
