Australian bronze in riding
NZPA Bromont Australia won its second medal at the Montreal Olympics yesterday when the three-day event equestrian team collected a bronze medal. The four members of the team each had clear rounds in stadium jumping, the final section of the three-day event. The United States won its first team gold medal since 1948 and also collected the individual gold and silver medals. The West Germans were second and German rider, Karl Schultz, on Madrigal, won the individual bronze medal. Princess Anne, who is a member of the British team, had a clear round but collected 3.25 points in time faults. The British team which had been running second in the competition, was eliminated yesterday when two of its top horses went lame.
