Bottle smashes window
An empty beer bo tie was hurled through a window of a house in Canon Street at 11 p.m. yesterday, scattering glass within three feet of a sleeping child. Mr John Collins, the owner of the property, said that the child—a flve-year-old boy—was not awakened by the crashing glass. He said that the bottle must have been thrown from the footpath, as the property has a sft fence. “I rushed from the house and searched the neighbourhood—but found noone,” said Mr Collins. The child’s room had the light on, and the curtains were half-drawn. The police are inquiring into the incident.
