Ground unfit
Although the sun snone brightly throughout the time the Ex-Kiwis and "The Press" Invitation XIII should have been playing their feature rugby league match yesterday, the game had ben postponed on Saturday. The Show Grounds took heavy punishment when two club matches were played on both nrounds in torrential rain during the afternoon. The groundsman (Mr Ivon Doak) ruled the field out for play yesterday, and the most likelv alternative date is August IS.
The postponement was probably just as well for the ExKiwis. Two of their backs. Bob Jarvis and Bruce Dickison, were carried from the field in their club games and Mocky Brereton, the unwitting party to Jarvis's injury, was feeling the effects of the clash, too.
