’Task force' in city
The Government’s Task Force on Economic, and Social Planning will meet representatives of the City Council and various Government departments in Christchurch this week.
The nine-man group, formed earlier this year to study planning, social and economic issues, is led by Sir Frank Holmes, professor of money and finance at Victoria University. . It has consulted nearly 300 organisations and people on such topics as the development of New Zealand within the next five years, policies for the more effective use of resources, and improvements in central and regional planning. It will disban ’ after reporting to the Government in October.
