Plea for four mercenaries

The parents of Costas Giorgiou, one of four mercenaries sentenced to death ; by a court in Angola, have appealed to Sweden’s Prime ' Minister (Mr Olof Palme) for help to save the condemned men’s lives. Sweden is one of the few Western countries with! jfriendly ties with the Angolan! i Government of President lAgostinho Neto. I The telegram said: “We the parents of Costas Giorgiou plead with you to do all you can to save our son and the three others condemned with him in Angola.” A spokesman said that since the telegram was addressed to Mr Palme, the Prime Minister would personally have to decide whether any action should be taken.
