Town wins at indoor bowls
Town beat North Canterbury in their annual indoor bowls match in Christchurch last evening, but the score of 32-16 failed to reflect the closeness of the contest. Several games were won by a single point, indicating that a much smaller margin would have been appropriate. Easily the best effort of the evening was made with the final bowl when the new Canterbury representative, Mrs Ora Bate, drew the shot to beat Frank Chapman, 7-6, in a fine game of singles. The North Canterbury selectors can look forward to some fine games from their team in forthcoming matches
against Malvern and Ellesmere. Results were (Town names first): Fours.—G. Forrester 6 A. Petrie 10; T. Clark 6, T. Fleming 5; S. Henderson 4, S. Robson 3; Mrs B. Immers 8. C. Lang 3Pairs.—G.
