Youth on remand
An 18-year-old Ashburton youth appeared in the Ashburton Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged that, with reckless disregard for the safety of others, he caused grievous bodily harm to Paul James Gibson.
The charge was laid in connection with a shooting in a house in Tancred Street at 1 a.m. last Friday in which two young men were injured. The defendant was remanded to May 3 for the taking of depositions. Bail of $5OO was allowed in his own recognisance, with two sureties of $5OO. He was ordered to report daily to the police.
