Todd grants of $71,000
Grants amounting to $71,000 have been made . by the' Todd Foundation to charitable, medical, educational, cultural, and commun 11 y organisations throughout New Zealand. Thirteen groups in Canterbury have received grants amounting to $5lOO. Among these are the Canterbury Orchestra Trust, the Ferrymead Trust, and Abilities (Chch), each of which receive $5OO. Announcing the grants yesterday, the foundation chairman (Mr B. Todd) said that $198,200 had been disbursed in . grants since the foundation Was formed in December, 1972. Trustees of the foundation include Sir William Sir Thomas Skinner, and Messrs X Parkin, F. Turriovsky, A. Todd, and J. Todd. Grants of $750 or more were made to. the following national organisations: New Zealand committee of the Royal 'Australasian College of Physicians, $1000; the Salvation Army, $1000; Birthright, N.Z., $2000; Heritage, $1000; the Order of St John, $,750; St Vincent de Paul Society, $750; Society for the Intellectually Handicapped, $lOOO. The full list of Canterbury grants is: Canterbury Orchestra Trust, $500; Christchurch Arts Festival, $350; Elmwood Players, $250; Ferrymead Trust, $500; Gunns Bush Camp, $250; Christchurch City Mission, $500; Open Door Centre arid Mount Grey Downs Centre, $250; Christchurch Children’s Homes Appeal Trust Board, $500; Christchurch Combined Churches Hospital Patients’ Adoption Trust Board. $250; Abilities (Chch), $500; Timaru Elderly Citizens Welfare Council, $250; Windsor House Board of Governors, $500; Christchurch Methodist Central Mission, $5OO.
