Kendall wins cycling
1 Barry Kendall beat his comarker. Arthur Bouteray, in an open 40km road cycling race on ■ Saturday shorn of many entries by the national championships. Although there was a testing wind on the Clarkville course, the scratch riders went under an hou rfor the distance, and caught a considerable amount on the field in the final 10km. Four min-; utes and a half behind the break! mark riders, they closed up to within a minute from that bunch, and only 2min from the winner. Craig Hawtin put up the fastest time.
