Waimairi man wins medal
Mr Craig Oliver, the Waimairi County Council’s reserves superintendent, has won the Cockayne Medal, the highest award of- the Royal New Zealand Institute of i Horticulture. The medal is awarded to the person with the highest average marks in the final 1 stage examinations for the I institute's national diploma I in horticulture. Mr Oliver, who came to Waimairi from New Plymouth three years ago, also holds the Lincoln College diploma of parks and recreation administration. Previously, he won two national awards — the David Tannock memorial I prize and a special prize for junior students.
