Entry of North Koreans

Sir, — The Prime Minister is to visit South Korea and then China on his world tour. In the meantime the Minister of Foreign Affairs has gone back to the bad old days by refusing to allow the entry of North Koreans into New Zealand. This must be an embarrassment for both the Prime Minister and the Chinese who are staunch friends of the North Koreans. The Chinese have welcomed many Heads of the various States recently, but it must pose a query to them whether to abandon this principle, and stick to their friends. Much of the good work done by the Chinese in making friends with the rest of the world is being thrown out by the inconsiderate action of our Government. — Yours, etc., P. J. ALLEY. April 7, 1976.
