Killing crayfish
' Sir, — As with similar j [topics, a lot of rubbish has; been written about the; [“humane” killing of crayfish before cooking. I am surmised that no crayftsherman has <ome forward with the right av to do this. It is so [simple that on first reading people are inclined not to believe it. You simply fill a ■container with cold fresh water from the tap and pat the crayfish in it. In almost 'the -arne time that it takes to kill them in boiling.water ey are dead. You then [transfer them to the cooking vessel. Tfiis method is (simple, humane and painless — try it sometime. — ‘Yours, etc.. K. MACDONALD. March 18. 1976.
