Corporal killed in crash
A corporal was killed when the Army truck he was drivI ing left the road and struck a pole on the Akaroa Highway. near Kaituna, yesterday’ •afternoon. He was
John L. Broughton, of 44 I Oxley Avenue ChristI church.
[ Another man Lance- [ Corpora] Garry Pullin, who suffered chest and head injuries, was discharged from Christchurch Hospital last night.
The two men were returning from delivering suppies to an exercise when the truck left the road about eight miles on the Christchurch side of Little River at 2.25 p.m. The truck hit a pole and caught fire. A St John Ambulance took the men to hospital, but Corporal Broughton was dead on arrival.
