Bidwell busy

The young Christchurch professional, Steve Bidwell, recently appointed professional to the Ashburton Golf Club, considers he has found a golfing haven. The 25-year-old Bidwell, formerly assistant at Harewood, has been in his new position for six weeks and has already found it profitable and rewarding. The job is keeping Bidwell active. “With six clubs in a radius of 20 miles, there are ideal opportunities for professional,” he said. W Bidwell, who toured overseas and competed on the New Zealand circuit last year, will restrict his playing to local tournaments. He hopes soon to have an assistant appointed.
