R.. Ellison) said. Mr Ellison said the topic had been raised after an article in “The Press’' said that some members of Akaroa and Bavs Lions’ Club had suggested that the lighthouse he rebuilt where it would be easier for the public to see. “The committee favours the retention of the lighthouse at Akaroa. but not as a tourist attraction in town.” Mr Ellison said “If the buildin g is tn he preserved, we (want it tn remain in its exist-j ing place.”
