The Rev. A. G. Sullivan, of Christchurch, has been appointed Anglican vicar of the Chatham Islands.

Mr Sullivan said an' Anglican vicar had once lived! 'on the Chatham Islands, but! it Xvas decided several years; ago that someone should visit; there about five times a year j instead.
Mr Sullivan said the ap-| pointment would be a “bit of I an adventure.”
The former vicar of the! Chatham Islands (the Rev.) D. T. Manning) said that as well as Anglican families] there were also Roman' Catholics, Ratanas, and Evangelists on the island. Ratana congregation once or; twice a year, and a part-time; pastor who lived on the; island visited the Evangelist; families.
There were two Anglican churches.
