Access up to farmers
Landowners have the final; [say about access by sports-j men to irrigation races, the: Water Resources Council! has ruled. The council has considered; a remit from the council of the South Island Acclimati-j sation Societies, requesting! access for sportsmen to the; races. In replying, the Water Re-1 sources Council said thatl most irrigation races were! on private land and it could: not grant access. The deci-i sion was up to the farmer! concerned, or the agency! controlling the land.
