Mr Muldoon ’not dictator'
f.V Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 24. It was clear that Labour strategv was to attack the personality and character of the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Muldoon), said the chairman of National’s publicity committee (Mr G. F. Gair) todav. He was commenting on the TV2 interview last night between the Prime Minister (Mr Rowling) and the author, James McNeish. “If the Prime Minister had any of the moral leadership qualities his publicists are busy trying to claim for him, he would disown this dictatorship phobia which he is being unashamedly used to perpetrate," he said. “It is now clear that Labour’s election strategy — using the very tactics they claim to abhor — is to try to, knock the personality and character of the Leader o, the Opposition. Mr Muldoon is certainly a strong leader with a capacity to think clearly and speak forthrightly, but that is not remotely close to or related to dictatorship,” said Mr Gair.
