MINISTER WARNS STUDENTS

(N.Z.P.A.Reuter —Copyright ) KUALA LUMPUR. Oct. 29. The Malaysian Minister of Education (Dr Mahathir Mohamed) has said that anti-national activities by Malaysian students overseas would be widespread if unchecked. He told Parliament that the Government was studying laws in relation to actions by Malaysians abroad which jeopardised national security. He said Malaysian students in Australia and New Zealand had held demonstrations recently so that they would be allowed to stay permanently in the two countries. He said only those who had done wrong were afraid to return to Malaysia. Others had no cause to fear. Dr Mahathir said onlv one Malaysian student from the two countries had been detained. Even then, it was for ihis activities in Malaysia. Editor appointed. —Mr G F. Vine has been appointed ! editor of Gore’s daily newspaper. the "Ensign.” He succeeds Mr J. F.
