Man walks off with cinema cash

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 5. An unarmed man robbed a central Wellington picture theatre, the Paramount, of $2OO tonight. He walked in and snatched the money from a cashier, Miss Denise Reid. “He was standing there for a couple of minutes talking to me,” said Miss Reid. “He was asking what picture was on. “Then he said he would take the money I was counting. “I thought he was joking at first. But he snatched the money and walked out. He didn’t run; he just walked.” No-one else was in the theatre foyer at the time. Patrons had just returned to their seats after the interval. and other staff members were cleaning up. The police cordoned off the area immediately, but the man was still at large at midnight
