(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 3. One station went off the air, and the national network news at 7 a.m. was cancelled, when a fault in a fire alarm forced the evacuation of Radio New Zealand’s headquarters at Broadcasting House, Bowen Street. Wellington, today. The alarm went off shortly before 7 a.m. Station 2ZM went off the air for nearly eight minutes. Long-playing records Were used to keep 2ZB, 2YC and the National Programme stations going until staff returned to the studios.
