New Dairy Board post in London

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 2. The Dairy Board will strengthen its representation in Britain and Europe. The general manager (Mr S. T. Murphy) who was due for retirement next year, will move to London toward the end of this year to work for continued access to Britain for New Zealand dairy produce. A statement by the chairman (Mr A. L. Friis) today, announcing Mr Murphy’s new appointment, said that the decision had been made because of the increasing effects of the E.E.C. dairying policies on all the board’s marketing, and the consequences of the E.E.C. dairying polinational trade. Mr Friis said that Mr Murphy would relinquish his management duties in New Zealand. These would be taken over by Mr B. K. Knowles, who is at present deputy general manager.
