The Prime Minister (Mr (Rowling) told Parliament to;dav that he had “no doubt” that the investigation into |the Security Intelligence Ser-, (vice by the Ombudsman (Sir Guy Powles) would look into I the question of a document: I leaked from the service. Replying to a question I from Mr W. F. Birch (NatFranklin), Mr Rowling said I Sir Guy had not set a date for the’completion of the investigation, and he did not think it proper to interfere with an independent inquiry. A question from Dr M. E. , R. Bassett (Lab., Waitemata) asking if Sir Guy would be i looking at the connection be- 1 jtween the S.I.S. and the) i weekly newspaper. the “Truth.” and between the i S.I.S. and the National Party. ! was ruled out of order by the acting Speaker (Mr J. L. Hunt).
