Man still missing

Searchers have so far failed to find a Christchurch man missing after Sunday’s fatal boating accident in Akaroa Harbour. Police and volunteers combed the shoreline without success yesterday for Mr David Chalklin, aged 41, of 148 Riverlaw Terrace, St Martins.

If the missing man was not found in a sea search today, the daily searches would be abandoned, said the Akaroa policeman. Constable G. V. Williamson. Periodic searches would continue, and the police would wait for a sighting.
