Lumber Box sets pace

“He sure can go some,” said George Shand after he had driven the Oamaruowned and trained Lumber Box to an all-the-way win in the New Brighton Stakes on Saturday night.

Lumber Box beat Stanley Rio by three lengths, with Tarport Toby getting up for third half a neck away, a nose in front of Smokey Lopez, which did remarkably well to finish so close after starting from 20m,
