Ashe tops earnings

NEW YORK. Arthur Ashe of the United States, winner of the W.C.T. world championship final and Wimbledon title this year, easily tops the prize-winners’ table, released by the Association of Tennis Professional Players. Ashe is credited with $222,500, almost $90,000 clear of hie fellow American Jimmy Connors.

Tlie table does not include earnings from challenge matches such as those between Connors and Rod Laver and Connors and John Newcombe, or winnings from W.T.T. team championship matches.
