(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON, Sept. 7. I A cracked windscreen: forced an N.A.C. Friendship to make an unscheduled landing at Wellington Airport yesterday afternoon. The aircraft took off for Napier soon after 5 p.m., but was forced to return when a cracked windscreen was discovered. The cause of the crack was not known. The .air traffic controller (Mr K. A. The 40 passengers on board were transferred to another aircraft and other N.A.C. services were not disrupted.
