“IT’S IN THE BAG” In the television column on Monday “It’s in the Bag” w’as literaliy tom to pieces , —most cruelly I consider. [This is still a programme [ eagerly sought after and [most entertaining. Now, had [ there been some adverse | comment on. the absolutely i disgusting “Edwards" proi gramme I could have underi stood it. I am not narrowi minded, but I think it is high [ time we had in -this country [men from the top down with the strength tO' put things [on the good old New Zealand standard.—MODERATION. SID JAMES When are we going to get a change from Sid James ini “Bless This House”? We think he is a grubby little man with smutty jokes, and are thoroughly sick of him. I cannot think why his wife doesn’t strangle him and his bad-mannered kids and find herself a decent play as she looks a pleasant type. Archie Bunker of “All in the Family” runs rings around Sid. The name “Bless this i House” is a misnomer as it blesses no house. I would ' also like to know why Fred : Dagg always wears a’ black singlet. I know many farm- i ers, and I have never to my i knowledge seen one wearing i a black singlet. Could he be 1 getting mixed up with i shearers and chaffcutters of i (yesteryear?—E.L. ■
