A grade billiards
The stage is set for a tense finish to the A grade billiards competition. Hoon Hay remained a point in front of Kaiapoi when both teams had 3-0 wins in the twentieth round, and as they both have players away at the national tournament during the next two weeks they also played their twenty-first round matches and both won 3-0 again. In addition Kaiapoi had another 3-0 win when it completed Its programme, and the Boon Hay No. 1, Brian Klrkness, was beaten by Eric Simons (Post Office) in his final match. This means that Hoon Hay, which has led for most of the season, must take both remaining games against Post Office if it is to finish level with-Kaiapoi. Hoon Hay can expect Peter Taylor to win the No. 3 game for it, but the crucial game will be between the No. 2s, Graham Foster (Hoon Hay) and Paul Golding. Results:—
