Syria and Jordan today announced that they had formed a Supreme Political Command Council headed by President Hafez al-Assad and King Hussein. Formation of the unified political command was announced in a joint communique at the end of King Hussein’s five-day State visit to Syria. For the last three months Syria and Jordan have been co-operating closely in the political, military, economic, and cultural fields.
