Confusion on points settled

Confusion among the Canterbury minor cricket associations over the final result of the minor association competition has been settled. Ashburton and North Canterbury have tied the competition. The secretary of the Canterbury Cricket Association, (Mr D. G. Harrison) said that at a recent meeting with minor association delegates there was some confusion as to the winner of the cup for 1974-75 because no play was possible in the Buller-North Canterbury match. The number of points to be awarded—if any—was uncertain. The rules were checked and it was found that two points were to be awarded to each side in the case of an abandoned match. The final points are: Ashburton 22, North Canterbury 22. West Coast 20, South Canterbury 12, Buller 0.
