University parking

The University of Canterbury Council has agreed to grant $3500 towards the cost of kerbing and channelling in part of Ham Road where a bottleneck has caused parking problems at the university. On the section of road, between the bridge opposite the Students’ Union and Maidstone Road, cars have been parked two and often three abreast. The Chancellor (Mr J. N. Matson) emphasised that putting right the streets of Waimairi County was the responsibility of the council.
