Southern Maoris triumph

Press .Association WHANGAREI Bill Osborne, the 20-year-old Wanganui cenire who made his debut in the All Blacks last Saturday, is to play at second fiveeighths for the New Zealand Maoris against NorFl Auckland on Saturday. The team was named after the annual Prince of Wales Cup match yesterday, in
which Southern Maoris beat Northern Maoris. 20-13. Other features of the team are the inclusion of the three Going brothers, Sid, Ken. and Brian, who have played together for North Auckland 70 times.
I Peter Goldsmith, the speedy [Counties wing, who has been out of action because of rib ■injuries for six weeks, made a successful return to firstclass play yesterday and has retained his place in the New Zealand Maori team. It is:

, In yesterday’s match. NorIton, the Southern skipper, [left the field with an ankle injury after only four minutes. But he lasted longer than Sid Going, who was expected to lead the Northern side. Going pulled out ■before the kick-off with a hand injury suffered in last | Saturday’s test. Mitchell, W. Pickrang, and A Dewar scored tries for Southern, and Pickrang kicked a dropped goal, [penalty and conversion. I Northern’s points came from a try by Jacob and three penalties bv B. Going.
