QUEENSTOWN CYCLING

f.’V.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL. The star of the two-day Queenstown cycling tour held during the week-end was a 16-year-old Christchurch rider, James Sampson.

He rode in the B grade section of the race, won all five stages easily, and was the dominant personality in the tour.

In the A grade section, a Timaru rider and last year’s B grade winner of the tour, Alan Campbell, came from behind yesterday to win this year’s tour.

He won two stages, was third in one and fifth in the other.
