Rugby union may help

(N.Z Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. Rugby Park. New Plymouth, may open its gates tc soccer fans on June 1. The Taranaki Football Association is seeking use oi the ground for a match between the English Football Association Cup finalist Fulham, and a side it will select. The match is one of three Fulham will play on its New Zealand visit. The others will be in Dunedin and Wellington. The chairman of the Tara laki Rugby Union's managenent committee (Mr J. H Stanley, Opunake) said the ise of the ground would be ’iscussed with representaives of the soccer associaion at the union’s monthly neeting tomorrow night. If the union agrees it will be the first time that Taranaik’s Rugby headquarters ground has been used for ;occer since it was opened in 1937.
