Precautionary landing
A Royal New Zealand Air Force Air Tourer on a training flight from Wigram made a precautionary landing on the Hanmer Springs airstrip yesterday because of control problems. A technical team aboard an Iroquois helicopter was on its way to Hanmer Springs from Wigram within minutes of the Air Tourer’s landing about 10.30 a.m. The fault was rectified, and the aircraft was back at Wigram about 2.30 p.m. It was not damaged.
