Good calf sale at Coalgate
Buying inquiry was good when a yarding of 1645 head was offered at the second Coaigate calf sale of the season on Friday. The sale was fully firm on rates paid at Addington market on Wednesday, and distinctly better than the level of the market at Addington on Thursday. Most of the calves were drawn from tussock properties, and as such, a medium grade of calf. Best steer calves sold at ,$4B to $57, medium at $4O ito $46 and small to $3B. Heifers sold largely at $23! j to $2B, with the better selection of Angus to $37.50, and' 1 some Shorthorns to $42. Sales included:— Steer calves. — F. D.
