Brothers XV at full strength
Eight Australian internationals have been included in the Brothers (Brisbane) senior Rugby team which is to play the Christchurch and Petone senior sides later this month.
The visiting team, which has been hailed as the strongest club side in Australia, will play Petone on Anzac Day (April 25) and Christchurch two days later.
Christchurch drew with Brothers in Brisbane last month in a match which was described as ‘‘torrid.’’
Wallaby forwards in the Brothers’ line-up will be David Dunworth (prop), Mick Freney (hooker), Dick Cocks (flanker), Mike Flynn (flanker), and Tony Shaw (No. 8). Internationals among the ’backs will be Paul McLean
• (five-eighths), Barry Honan, and David L’Estrange (cent r e s ). McLean and L’Estrange played in all three tests against the All Blacks last year.
The team’s coach is Dallas O’Neill, an Australian representative in the early 19605. Brothers took the Queensland first grade championship last year by winning all but one of its 23 matches. It also beat the Sydney club champion, Randwick, and two New Zealand club sides, jWhakatane and Southern '(Dargaville).
