i (N.Z. Press Association! WELLINGTON, April 8. A proposal has been made at. Government level that! [New Zealand should send an[ ! official delegation to the areas [of South Vietnam controlled [by the Provisional Revolutionary Government, according to the secretary of the 'Hataitai branch of the: Labour Party (Mr K. J. Dawson). But the Prime Minister Mr Rowling) said tonight that no such decision had been taken at Government level. “There are no Government plans to send a mission to' the P.R.G.,” he said. Mr Rowling would not comment further until he had i studied the correspondence' on the issue.
In a statement today Mr[ Dawson said that his branchy supported such a proposal. I He said he hoped that such a I delegation would lead to [ idiplomatic relations between! New Zealand and the P.R.G. being established. He “had been concerned! for some time about the! Government’s slowness in implementing this resolution.; especially in recent weeks [ when it appeared it would lose the initiative.
“Even now their genuine! intentions of goodwill in ' sending a delegation are' suspect,” said Mr Dawson. |
