Concern for bridge

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Steps are being taken to ensure that a disaster like the Hobart Bridge collapse does not happen in Auckland. The harbourmaster. Captain C. R. Blair, had been asked to prepare a report on shipping movements under the Harbour Bridge, the Auckland Harbour Board was told.

Captain Blair was asked to report to the board works and traffic committee on any steps he considered should be taken to ensure the bridge remained safe from shipping.
