Better insurance cover sought

North Canterbury farmers are anxious to get more comprehensive insurance on their crops in the light of recent heavy storm losses.

The subject arose at a meeting of the North Canterbury privincial executive of Federated Farmers yesterday from a remit from the Cheviot branch.

The Hororata branch i raised the matter because its I own racing club and that at Kurow will soon be required to stop operating locally. •

The meeting also carried a remit from Hororata branch land decided to write to the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr May) and the Racing Authority strongly objecting: Ito the loss of permits for, rural racing clubs.
