i.V.Z. Press As.soctation) j AUCKLAND. A Chinese seaman, Chung | Ng. aged 26. wanted to come to New Zealand to see a girlfriend. so he stowed away in a freighter at Hong Kong, , Mr P. M. Browne, S.M., heard. Sergeant B. S. Boreham . said Ng had been found in the Shansi en route to Auckland on March 18. When questioned by the captain he said he had been hiding in the tunnel shaft and using the tunnel escape which came out in the motormen’s bathroom to obtain access to the poop deck where he slept at night. He was running out of food and became venhungry. He had existed on the food which he had taken on board with him. Ng was convicted and j ordered to be deported.
