Uncertainty over tour
(INVERCARGILL. March 11. 1 Because of the economic position, uncertainty hangs over the traditional tour of the country by “Miss New (Zealand” contestants this | year. The contest’s franchise /older, Mr C. Moeller, confirmed from Auckland this (evening that even though hotels and halls throughout New. Zealand had been booked, no decision had yet been made as to whether a tour would be held. A conference would take .place in Auckland on Thurs|day, at which a final decision I would be made. The contest this year would be mainly centred on the Auckland Easter Show, start ing on March 14. All the original sponsors would again take part, Mr Moeller said The final would be held in Christchurch for which a tentative date, April 21. had been set.
